Berliot Bolaños
Latin AmericaSales and Marketing Manager, Latin AmericaBerliot Bolaños is the director for Business Development and Sales for Central America, The Caribbean, and Colombia. She is enthusiastic about contributing to the sustainable development of the region. Her background is in Food Science Engineering, with a Master of Business Administration from INCAE Business School. Over the past 10 years, she has led consulting projects and provided technical guidance for testing, inspection, and certification processes for various global commodity market requirements. Berliot’s areas of expertise include ISO standards, Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) schemes, product claims, food safety culture, social audits (SMETA), Responsible Sourcing of Palm Oil (RSPO), and Bonsucro; among other food safety and sustainability standards. She has also contributed as an active member of various international organizations and as a professor at the University of Costa Rica. She currently serves as president for the National Association of Food Scientists in Costa Rica (ASCOTA), she is a country representative for ALACCTA (Latin American and the Caribbean Association of Science and Food Technology) and for the IFT (Institute of Food Technologists).

Main areas of work include biofuels and supply chain certification, regulatory compliance, sustainable biomass origination, advanced and residue-based fuels, decarbonization strategies. Certified professional of the Bonsucro Certification System for sugar and derivatives (ethanol) – auditor and instructor; the Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB) certification – including Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF); the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC); the California Low Carbon Fuels Standard (LCFS); and the Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS).

Latin AmericaDirector, SCS Global Services ArgentinaJaime de Monasterio is the Director of SCS Global Services in Argentina. Jaime not only established the Legal Branch of SCS in Argentina, but also developed multiple sustainability services in Argentina within the Food and Agricultural, Natural Resources, and Environmental sectors. He is an Agronomist with a Post-Degree in Agribusiness Management from the Universidad Austral in Argentina, and a Business Management & Marketing degree from the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (UADE), among others. Jaime has 22 years of experience in agriculture and sustainability audits.

Jorge Ramírez Laugerud
Latin America, MexicoVice President, Responsible Sourcing StrategiesJorge has worked 15+ years with SCS Global Services within the Food and Agriculture Division where he leads de Responsible Sourcing Strategies department that develops and manages private label programs like Starbucks C.AF.E. Practices, Ferrero Farming Values, Numi Fair Labor Verification, Driscoll’s Social Compliance Verification, amongst others. Jorge also provides assessment and support to buyers, exporters, and producers on different products for their internal sustainability policies including social and environmental responsibility. He has deep experience in risk evaluations in supply chains and traceability. Jorge has extensive auditing and training experience in Latin America, Africa, Asia, Europe, and in the USA. Jorge’s academic background is in Environmental Sciences & Agriculture from Rafael Landivar University in Guatemala and he speaks English and Spanish.

As Director, Jorge brings his decades of knowledge on certification issues, consulting, auditing, and training in different international standards to companies in Mexico. Well versed in ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO22000, FSSC22000 (food & package), SQF, BRC, OHSAS, ISO 27001, ISO 22301, ISO21001, Bonsucro, and FSC among other standards, Jorge has extensive experience in managing aspects of the entire supply chain from marketing and sales, customer service, execution of audits and invoicing and collections. He holds an MBA in the Senior Management Program at IPADE (Business School in México), a Diploma in Environmental Impact, and several diplomas in Strategic Planning and Business Development.
